Coring

Economic solution for making holes

evatec-tools proposes an economic, high performance solution for making holes up to 600mm diameter:

Coring is a technique whereby a circular groove is machined in a surface until it penetrates the opposite face, when a central core then detaches. This can be used

- as a static lathe tool

- as a rotating tool on machining centres, milling machines, borers

The hole can be inclined, or started on a curved face (opening out onto an irregular surface)

ADVANTAGES:

  • Power use reduced by 50%
  • Chip volume reduced by 70% to 90%
  • A reusable piece of stock is recovered
  • Ideal solution for difficult materials (steels, exotic stainless steels, titanium, bronze)
